The West Gate Care Centre is accepting new residents to our home, but this is being done in a considered and planned way to ensure the admission process is safe.
The home experienced an outbreak during the month of April, in line with the peak of the infection rate, but have managed to stop the spread and have no further positive cause in the building, If any changes do occur to the infection status of the home, we will communicate this to all concerned parties.
The home has adequate PPE and staffing levels are at a normal level to ensure the safety & wellbeing of the people using the service.
To avoid a potential second wave of Covid-19, non-essential visiting is still not permitted to the home at this time except in exceptional circumstances per individual resident. This will be reviewed, and plans are underway by the management team to try and ensure some form of safe visiting as soon as we are able to do so.
There are many digital platforms available for families and friends to stay in touch with their loved ones, so please do get in touch if this is something you would like to do.
