COVID 19 Pandemic

Dear Families, Friends, Enquirers and Patrons,

Here at Grenham Bay Court, we are continuing to run the service with as little disruption to our residents as possible, during the COVID 19 pandemic. We are accepting future admissions for residency in our home. We have precautions in place to ensure that all our residents remain safe and well during these difficult times. Upon admission to Grenham Bay Court, new residents will be asked to isolate for the first 7 days, during which time they will be barrier nursed. On the first day of admission the new resident will be asked to have a COVID-19 swab test, this is to try and reduce the length of time that full isolation and barrier nursing will be required.

We wish to inform you that Non-Essential visiting remains in place at Grenham Bay Court. Moving forward, we have purchased a Visitation Gazebo which holds a seating area with a protective Screen and enough room for social distancing measures between the resident and visitor. We will be holding bookable time slots for family and friends to come and visit their loved ones in the gazebo. We are hoping to start this in July. To reassure all, the Gazebo will have a deep clean after each visit and PPE will essentially be worn by the visitors.

The home did experience an outbreak of COVID 19 in May. This was detected by the care home test kits, although those residents that tested positive did not display any symptoms and recovered exceptionally well. Grenham Bay Court has not had any further COVID 19 cases but does have strict prevention methods in place to reduce the likelihood of a second wave. Grenham Bay Court will keep all relevant parties updated on the infection status of the home should there be a change in the future.

We wish to reassure all that Grenham Bay Court, has an excellent supply of PPE and has very reliable suppliers to ensure that we do not enter a period of low stock.

For those that are unable to visit, we are offering family and friends digital platforms to keep in contact with their loved ones.  If you would like further information on this then please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone 01843 841008 or via email – info@grenhambay.co.uk .

Dementia Simulator

Can we really ever understand what it is like to live with dementia?

Here at Grenham Bay we have introduced a ‘dementia simulator’ programme for staff to undertake to better understand how it might feel to complete everyday tasks without your senses.

Are you brave enough to come and try for yourself?

Grenham wins big at KICA awards!

It was a fabulous night for Grenham at the KICA care awards! Jessica Brock won the care home worker of the year award, and Lauren Lloyd was runner up for prestigious care innovator.

The top ‘gong’ of the night went to the undeniable Carole bole who won the outstanding contribution to care services award.

When we consider the sheer magnitude of this event it really gives incredible perspective to how incredibly well our team did.
